What Happens During Our Pet Sitting Cat Care Visits?
We Take Our Pet Sitting Responsibility Seriously
Our pet sitting responsibility begins the moment you leave for your trip and doesn’t end until you call to let us know you are home. Our Cat Care Specialists love what they do and always go above and beyond to ensure the comfort of your cat, and to provide you with peace of mind. Our goal is to allow you to tend to your business trip or enjoy your vacation worry-free, knowing your kitty is in good hands and being well cared for.
We Keep Your Cat’s Routine When We Visit
We keep your cat’s routine in tact as much as possible. We accomplish this by gathering detailed information about your cat’s needs in our Service Contract, which then becomes our “Cat Sit Bible” for your cat. We collect contact information for you, as well as emergency and veterinary contacts. We also gather feeding, cleaning, and medication information, and any special instructions and information such as favorite treats and toys.
Consistent Cat Care at Each Pet Sitting Visit
Your cat is visited in your home for 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes (depending upon which service you choose), meaning your cat gets your sitter’s undivided attention at every visit. The litter box will be scooped (or changed as needed), water and food bowls will be cleaned and refilled, and tons of love and affection will be heaped on your kitty! We follow all special instructions and medication requirements to the letter.
We Take a Customized Approach to Cat Care
We know all cats are not alike, and some of them need a special approach. Whether your cat is friendly, shy, or somewhere in between, we customize our interaction to make sure your cat is comfortable with us. If you have a “hide-y kitty” who tends to shy away from strangers, we spend our time sitting quietly with her, talking in low tones to make sure she isn’t frightened. If your cat loves to be brushed and petted, we’ll sit on the floor and brush her as long as she likes. If playtime is what your cat craves, point us to the toy box and we’ll take it from there!
Daily Communication from Your Cat Sitter
Your Cat Care Specialist will send you daily Email Updates (as well text messages or phone calls if you like) to let you know what your cat is up to. We’ll also include a photograph or two, so you can see first-hand that you have a healthy happy cat at home.
Handling Medical Emergencies During Your Pet Sit
If your cat requires veterinary care while you are away, we will contact you first unless it is an emergency. The well-being of your cat comes first, and we will take your cat straight to your vet or to a 24-hour vet facility if it is a true emergency situation. If the issue is not an emergency, we will contact you and explain the situation so you can decide if she needs to be seen by your vet.
Earthquake, Fire Alerts, Snow and Ice Situations
Should an earthquake, a fire, or a snow storm (for our eastern folks) hit the area while you are away, we will alert you with a phone call to let you know everything is all right before you hear about it on the news. If the earthquake or fire is major and has occurred near your home, we will visit your home immediately and move your cat to a safe place if evacuation is required.
